Verwundetenabzeichen opinions?

Article about: Hello, I'd be grateful if anyone could advise me if this badge is real or fake. (Apologies for colour on the 2nd picture) If it is real, what would be a reasonable price for me to pay? Kind

OK - that's interesting - the seller describes the item as having the original layer of paint intact everywhere except on some protruding areas, which are slightly worn.

I'll wait to see what further photos I receive...

No worries Joey. This type of award & others arn't painted. A "wash" is applied. This can wear off,to expose the base metal. But no paint is used. Stewy

The post above shows the most recent pictures I received from the seller. He bought the badge from a reputable Austrian seller via an auction website. The badge is made of zinc rather than 'buntmetal' (?) I hope this makes sense.

Reason for selling is that his collection is too diverse and he wants to rationalise / simplify it. He's hoping to sell for around 60 euros.

Views please on whether the pictures help in deciding if it is real, if so what it would be worth.

    Thanks,
    Joey.

Joey, here's my silver "30". I'm still dubious, close ups of hinge & catch would be good. 60 euros seems cheap for a gold WB. Stewy

The pin and hinge are the same as on your silver badge. (You can maybe see this better on the original photos I posted).

The main difference that I (untrained eye) can see is the incomplete lower part of the '3' on the back of the badge.

Does the front look ok in terms of detail ? (sharpness / worn look etc.).

    Joey.

The number 30 is higher up on the Gold badge than Stewy's silver badge. Is this significant ?

Also if the seller is willing to let it go for 60 euros, then, presumably if he's making a profit, he would have got a bargain when he bought it.

I think I'm slowly coming to a conclusion I didn't want to reach...

    mmm...
