Any ideas? Or is it a fake one? I've got it for christmas last year from my girlfriend, so I don't know where it comes from. I thibk it's black painted iron, because of the small rust on the backside.

I don't understand why it is so yellow in the photos. Natural light is the best.
Maybe why no one has commented so far?

    Well,
I can tell you that it is a good genuine one.
    The maker is more difficult.
If you give me a few minutes I may be able to give you some direction

Nope...had a quick look at my database and it could be any of three or four makers.
Lift the pin up and see if it is stamped with a number underneath...

Its a good one. likely tombak/brass based (check with a magnet) and black painted. I would guess (30) Hauptmünzamt Wien (Austria) but its only a guess.

Many thanks! The needle has no number on it, and the badge is not magnetic.

Don't let that hardware fool you. It is not Hauptmunzamt. I have seen these referred to as a "short helmet"
badge by unknown maker on other forums. I've got 2 of these & love the design.
