Hello Casey,
There were no solid backed black wound badges. I believe this one is a fake. I don't like the catch and it is missing the rear rivet. I believe the catch is cast in place as well, not a good sign.
Please wait for other opinions as well.
Ralph.

I think it's meant to be a silver WB. I'm not sure from those pics if it's original. Reverse looks pitted, but hardware looks not too bad. Stewy
Hello Casey.
As Ralph mentioned above I don't believe this is a genuine badge.
I think it is supposed to represent a silver grade badge but you can clearly see (even on my phone) the horrible casting pits on the reverse side.
I think both the hinge and hook have been applied over the cast plinths that would have been on the badge that the casting was taken from
I have a large database of wound badges so I could identify which badge maker it is supposed to be but it would have to wait till the end of the week
Sorry to have been the beare of bad news
All the best
Doug
The badge is pretending to be a L22 in silver. Check out the placement of the
sword tip berries & the double knot on the bow:

Thank you everyone for the info. Another removal from the collection.
