Here's an interesting black wound badge I have it's a LDO piece that is maker marked on the pin L/16. First one I have owned, and the only one I have seen

A nice example made from steel.
I don't believe they are rare, just not seen that often.

Thanks Ralph. I've not had one till now. I placed it on a tunic build project.

This is not an S&L badge, it is actually an L/18 B.H. Mayer.

Also, I cannot recall ever seeing an L/16 S&L black wound badge marked on the pin, only the helmet.

Thanks for the clarification on the 8. L/18 very cool. I wonder why Mayer would opt for the pin and not the helmet for placement.
