It appears to be a bronze example with most of the finish gone. These are difficult to find with all of the finish still on them.

A good example of the hollow zinc Assmann PAB in Bronze. Here's mine that's the same design type, but made from cupal, the only hollow PAB made using this material although Juncker used it on the super rare solid badge they briefly produced.
It's a lovely example, but the fly in the ointment is the catch which was replaced, although probably in period.
