    Hi Didier,

    It's a repro badge that dates from around 2005. The lack of any finish is a big red flag, EWE badges are noted for retaining a good plated finish.

    Secondly, the lack of any hand filing in the areas marked in red, as well as some others not highlighted like the cupola and often the gun barrel also show this is not a genuine piece.

    Finally, the faint vertical scratch marks highlighted in green are always found on the earliest versions of this fake, and are a dead giveaway. Later versions had this mistake rectified by the forger.

    Here's a reverse shot of what a real EWE looks like, and your badge with some of the errors pointed out.

    Same conclusions as well with one esteemed WRF member showing the what a real EWE should look like.

    Is this guy asking the question you Didier, or another French collector?
