Here's an original for comparison, note the differences in the design, the foreground grass and rock, and the area around the co-ax MG port. The fake originates in England around 20 years ago.
Here's another example of a fake box, although this time marked 'Bronze' it's still the same crap. They appeared around 8-10 years ago described as "old makers stock".

It's easily done. I have had the same problem, it's always been when viewing badges on my phone though! The screen really doesn't allow you to see all the necessary details and you end up making embarrassing mistakes, lol!
