I got this some years ago, bought it from a guy who said it was his step father in the photo, let me know what you think.

I like it too. Original "AS in Triangle" in bronze. There should be a fair bit of info on the doc too.Stewy
Thanks, actually it's silver, the photo's don't do it justice.
Can any of my german speaking friends tell me what it says on the back of the photo's?
Very nice! I love the design of that 1st pattern AS in Triangle
BR,
James
First one:
"Meinem lieben Freund
Wilhelm
in treuer Kameradschaft
von seinem Freund
[signed]
Breslau, 1944-45"
...meaning...
"To my dear friend
Wilhelm
in faithful comradeship
from
from his friend
[signed]
Breslau, 1944-49"
(Sorry, not sure what the signed name is.)
The second one:
"März 1943
Lazarett
Rudi Pieritz"
...i.e....
"March 1943
military hospital
Rudi Pieritz"
Nice group , Panzer Regt 29 was part of 12 Panzer Divison and when the badge was awarded they had been fighting in Russia around Lake Ladoga and Newel , area of Army Group North !!
The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )
1st July 1916
Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Thank you both for all your info, it helps alot.
Thanks for the translation Andreas and thanks for the info Paul.
Do you guys think that the photos belong to this group?
1. On the photo with the inscription "März 1943 Lazarett Rudi Pieritz" the name Rudi Pieritz is written with a different pen and in different hand writting character.
2. On the other photo shouldn't the name on the signature be Rudi Pieritz? I mean the guy on the photo gave it to his friend Wilhelm and signs it. But the name underneath appears to be diferent.
Looking for the photo albums of Leutnant Emil Freitag, 3. / G.R. 377
