If you compare with this original, you should be able to determine if the example you posted is original or not.

These KWM marked badges have been faked to an excellent standard by the 'Hero' of Dortmund, Carsten Staegemeir. There are literally thousands of these out there, and the differences are so slight that most dealers and many collectors get caught out by this one, therefore it really does require careful study.

Although the pic's are far from the best when looking for the minutae within these badges, I believe I can see enough to say this one is O.K. The wraparound hinge is a variant that was likely used right at the end of the war, it's thought these were the last Wurster PAB's made. The fine bubbled finish on the reverse with the black blotches is also authentic looking, he hasn't managed to get that right....Yet. Plus, the fakes have a couple of giveaway flaws which i'm not seeing here.

All in all, bearing in mind the poor photo's I think it's an original.

    Regards, Ned.

    Thanks Ned!
I'm starting to hate the name Carsten Staegemeir.
I'm thinking whether to buy a badge.
    Good night
