As far as I know, all clamshell screw back Kriegsabzeichen should be viewed as fake. I certainly don't remember seeing any that have been called original.

There has been debate on these pieces for years now. Some say that they are correct and others believe them to be made in the 70's. Personally, I don't believe that this particular badge here is genuine as the details look considerably different from a genuine Assman badge-the eagle's head, the acorns,the eagle's legs and talons, etc. I don't have a copy at hand, but you might want to check out Frank Heukeme's excellent book on the GAB.

well il think il passon it, it looked kinda neat ,, clamshell & all. but the detail looked soft and abit off.
