It's a good badge with a replaced catch. The MM is a little rarer in that it has the 'thin' lettering, but other than that is unremarkable. These badges were fitted with 2 different styles of catch that both had base plates, one being round and the other more oval, similar to the late Juncker type, and is seen on their Infanterie Sturmabzeichen and KM badges.
Both are notorious for breaking off, so it's not suprising to see this one's been repaired with a shepherds crook '?' type catch. Even Ade's example shown in the link supplied by Brett has been repaired due to the failure of the fitting, so there's nothing unusual or fake about this badge.
