Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen

Article about: bought it from an militaria dealer in Belgium, now is the question real or fake?

You're both right regarding the finish.

    To quote Frank Heukemes:

"This Karneth General Assault Badge displays a shiny, almost chrome like finish, much the same as on some of this maker's Panzer Assault Badges..."

    And regarding the reverse side:

"...The finish is more matt and grainy than that found on the obverse..."

So, nothing wrong with your keen eyes chaps.

    Regards, Ned.

I agree, here are some photos of two RK Panzerkampfabzeichen, two different finishes.

No to out-do Frank who is a great researcher in his field- could someone show another one with unfinished outside edges?

    thanks,

Lifted off WAF, not the best angle of the outside edge, but there is a rough edge visible.

A Karneth PAB with similar 'flash' around the edges and matt finish.
