I'm thinking fake based upon the fact it looks cast and the finishing is very crude. There is too much flashing in the gaps that hasn't been filed out properly. The hinge pin and catch are a concern too.

Wait for a few more opinions because there are several variants from Assmann and I might have missed seeing one but as the saying goes 'not for my collection'.

I have to agree. The lack of definition and no sign of the six mould ejector marks encountered on Assmann solid badges condemn this one, plus the hardware is incorrect as well, a cast fake.
