to be honest the seller was mystified when told it could be fake,as he said its been in his mothers draw as far as he knew since she got it from her cousin with the spanish cross and wound badge, rgds Dave

This is a good illustration of how a bad set of initial photos of an unusual item can easily get dismissed as "suspect" if not outright bad. I am glad I changed my initial opinion when I saw the second set of pics.

The nature of the hobby has got to the stage that everything must almost be regarded as fake until proven otherwise.
