    I am not sure about the obverse but, this hardware would be typical for maker RK, Rudolf Karneth.

    It's an original badge and Ralph could well be correct about the maker. Karneth did use ball hinges. Try a search and see if you can find a similar badge.

    Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
