I can't tell you who the maker is Dave as I do not have one of these in my collection. I believe there is nothing wrong with it, but as Nick said, wait for fischer.

    Hello
I'm not an expert but maybe the manufacturer Rudolf Souval, Wien. Lighter types of badges.
    Hi Guys

This one is an original example in nice condition and is still an unknown maker. Suggesting a link to the Souval firm as Hunter states is pretty close.

This one is referred to by collectors as the "Vienna Design" variant and there are four different hardware set ups that have this same obverse design. All have the same shallow rifle cut out on the reverse as well. This one is the block hinge variant.

    The Vienna or Wien family of IAB's includes the following;

    Marked Examples
    R. Souval
    F. Orth
    W. Hobacher
    Grossman & Co.

    Unmarked Examples
    Cupal
    Pillow Crimp
    Vienna Design - Shallow cut
    Vienna Design - Deep cut

The obverse design of all of these are very close in detail. Because of this and the location of the maker marked examples, this tends to lead to the conclusion that the unmarked examples more than likely came from the same area.

Because there are subtle differences in the obverse designs, one cannot definitely conclude which manufacturer actually produced the unmarked examples.

Congrats on a very nice IAB...

    Best Regards, fischer

Fischer's spot on as always. I tend to think these might well have been manufactured by or through Fredrich Orth. But it's a close call. Stewy
