I believe this is a fake.
The examples from this maker with the wrap around hinge should not have the round catch plate. Also, the round catch plate is too large.
The examples with the "lily pad" hinge are found with a slightly smaller, round catch plate.
Here is my example to compare.

I think I should clarify my earlier comment.
I still believe the one posted is a fake.
The combination of maker's mark, wrap around hinge, and this catch set up has not been seen on an original that I know of.
The wrap around hinge with this catch set up can be found, but without this maker's mark. The round catch plate is still smaller.
    Here is my example.

    Hello Tom

This ISA is an original with an accepted hardware set-up from the firm of E. Ferd Wiedmann.
It is one of the several hardware set-ups used by this maker.

I have this variant cataloged as the UU marked - Sheet Metal Hinge with Die 3 obverse.
The Die 3 obverse can be identified by looking at the R4 wreath leaf...the leaf vein has a distinct point.

Here is one I have to compare.

    Thanks for your input fischer!
I had not seen one with the wrap around hinge, round catch plate AND the UU maker's mark before.

If you are a Wiedmann collector and need this example, then I would say yes.
This is one of the lesser encountered hardware set-ups found with the UU marked reverse from this maker.

If you do plan to collect all of the Wiedmann marked and Wiedmann design ISA's - I have found a total of 23 different examples.
This amount does not include Silver and/or Bronze grade variants...just obverse design & hardware set-up differences.

    Best regards, fischer

    Hello Fischer,

Thanks a lot for your kind reply.
I am not a Wiedmann collector and I am looking just to add one Infanteriekampfabzeichen in my collection.

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Best regards
