    Hello All,
Had a great day in Abergavenny today and found a few pieces.

I think this is a genuine unmarked pebbled version of a bronze Rudolf Karneth of Gablonz...6 vein version.

This manufacturer seems to have had quite a few dies on the go.
There is the 5 vein version, and a couple of unpebbled examples available.

This one seems to actually have some light wear rather than some of the more pristine examples of this badge I have seen.

    Any opinions or comments welcomed.

    All the best
    Doug

    Hi Doug

    Nice find, congrats...

This example is an original and is referred to by collectors as the Rudolf Karneth, Gablonz ISA.
Solid attribution to this maker has yet to be determined with most agreeing that one (or multiple) of the Galbonz makers did produce this one.

As you mention, this one has the wreath leaf stippling or is the "pebbled" version of this ISA.

You are also correct in that several variations of this design exist.
There is only one version of the "pebbled" motif from this maker(s).

    The smooth leaf or "unpebbled" examples consist of three different patterns;

    1. unpebbled (5) vein example
    2. unpebbled (6) vein example
    3. unpebbled (6) variant with slightly different vein detail in the 3L leaf when compared to the #2 (6) vein.

It can be challenging to collect all of them.

    Best Regards, fischer

Thank you for the confirmation and knowledgeable input fischer.
I only collect ISAs if they come along with a group as my interests lie with most things TR and their allies but it is good to know that this one is good.

    All the best
