    Hi Nick,

Could you please take a couple of close detail shots of the catch please?

    Regards, Ned.

Ignore my last post, for some reason there appeared only one reply when I posted! Has it been identified as a Hero fake by any chance, or even Staegmaier??

    Regards, Ned.

    Hi Ned

Thomas Durante quoted - "The soft details on the obverse, as well as the crude, soft edges around the entire reverse are the first big red flags here. The cast-in hinge and catch are also crudely formed, compared with originals"

Do you think its a Staeg fake mate ?

Here is an original from Thomas' collection:

    Hi Nick,

I actually thought it was a Hero fake, known as the 'Adams apple fake' due to the slightly bulged throat seen on the reverse. The little dot/crater on the 6th oakleaf down that I've ringed is an even bigger tell, and close up photo's of the catch would have condemned it for certain. The GWL assault badge is the most highly and accurately faked version of this award, and the Hero type are being constantly updated, so you've gotta be really careful when looking at these.

    Regards, Ned.
