    Please read this thread.
    The Use of German Terminology.

This is an attributed RK IAB.
I have moved your thread to the correct section of this forum.

Are the IABs of Schmidhaussler and R Karneth the same?

As far as is known, Schmidhaussler didn't manufacture any combat badges I can think of apart from EK spanges. So I don't know where you got that from?

    I agree with this statement.
I don't know of any other awards that they made. Many things have been learned since this book was produced.

I have the 2008 (1st edition) of Webers IAB book, and there's no mention of a Schmidhaussler badge anywhere in it. Page 92 covers a Wiedmann solid zinc badge. Is your copy an earlier version/impression???

    Hello

The Weber book has several errors including a fake posted as an original.

The Schmidhaussler attribution is not correct and was probably a married set with the maker marked packet and the RK example.

As stated by the others, this one is referred to as the RK example.
There are two makers from the Gablonz area, Rudolf Karneth and Robert H. Kreisel.
Both are feasible candidates; further information is needed to be sure which one actually produced these.

Your RK example is a (5) vein variant with a chrome like "Glanzverzinkt" finish and is the smooth or non-pebbled variation.

    Congrats, it's a nice ISA!

    Best Regards, fischer
