Infanterie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, Semi Hollow with Maker's Mark.

Another item I picked up at a local gun show the other day.
I am always watching for nice examples of these to fit amongst my full sized ones.
It is a very detailed 16 mm IAB stick pin with a semi hollow back and a maker's mark. Most of the silver finish is still present on this one.

Lovely marked mini and a great catch. The maker mark is purported to be an "H" inside the "W" and some think the HW is for Hermann Wernstein.
For me, this attribution could be correct but is still only a theory without concrete proof.

I too, like collecting the miniatures and enjoy seeing nice examples such as this one.

Hi Ralph

Because there are far fewer miniatures when compared to the full size examples and even less collectors of these, information is difficult to find.

I currently have an L21 marked, L57 marked and a HW marked minis in my collection.
I have heard of an L/18 marked mini but I have not seen one.
