    Hello

The ISA is manufactured by the E. Ferd Wiedmann firm and marked with his Leistungs Gemeinschaft der Deutscher Ordenshersteller or LDO number L/51 for sale in retail outlets.

The ISA appears to be a ground dug or poorly stored example which is very detrimental to the value.
It appears to have a brassy colored undercoating applied over the zinc base followed by a frosted silver/white finish coating.
It is this brassy undercoat that has preserved this badge from further decay.

The Award Doc is the most commonly encountered style but looks to be in very nice shape.

As the ISA is an LDO marked example meant for private purchase, it would not have been awarded with the certificate.

    Best regards, fischer

Good evening, Fischer! Thank You for Your answer.
ISA is a ground dug, You are right
That means, that the owner had lost his originaly awarded ISA and had bought a new one for himself?

    Good evening, Stewy!
The document is signed by Oberst Berger, who commanded the Gebirgs Jäger Regiment 218 until June 1943. Part of Gebirgs Division 7 was at the time in Finland and part was fighting in the Illmensee area.

    Nice example, Stewy.
Have seen only couple of those, here in the forum. That means this manufacturer is rare?

I wouldn't say rare, but tricky to find. They are out there. Stewy

I also agree with my good friend here...challenging but not rare.

I am of the opinion that the L/51 examples are one of the more common of the LDO marked ISA's.

Here are a couple from my collection.

    Best regards, fischer
