Infantrie Sturmabzeichen in Silber, Unmarked , RSS, Richard Simm & Sohne
A recent addition to my IAB collection.
This hollow zinc example is attributed to the firm of RSS, Richard Simm & Sohne. It has a crimped in ball hinge with a soldered on flat wire catch.
This example shows some war to the high points but still retains most of it's silver finish that has tarnished with time.

A lovely example Ralph, congrats on acquiring it.
The RSS examples, in particular the solid zinc variants are some-what of a puzzlement to me.
They resemble their JFS cousins, but it's been my experience that the quality control was less strengent.
Also there are multiple variations when comparing the RSS solids from obverse details, hardware attachment and the maker mark itself.
