Fedex dropped this off today, all the way from Germany. From Butschek Antiques, Thank you Klaus Sorry the pictures are so dark, I can't seem to find a happy medium with my cameras. Hopefully once we're realeased from the arctic tundra, I'll be able to find the sun again.

It's in silver, hollow back and made from zinc. The clasp has been wartime repaired. It has a slgiht bend to it, was normal, or was it acquired over the years? The silver ones were awarded at the division level? I thought I bookmarked that website.

    Hello

The Infanterie Sturmabzeichen is referred to as a Schickle/BHMayer Design.
The catch has been repaired at some point and when this occurred, is speculation at best.

The repair did look familiar, as this Broken Stem appears to have the same type of replacement.

    Infanterie Sturmabzeichen

    Best Regards, fischer

Thanks guys, I'm very happy with it, and with Klaus and his excellent service. Now that I've been bitten, I can see more in my future. I need to find a book or 2 I think.

    Hello Paul,
As has been said, a good example, even with the repair.
Congrats, it is difficult to stop at only one.

Well done Paul, a piece of militaria is always more welcome than a bunch of flowers!

I like seeing wartime repairs and it doesn't detract from the badge in my eyes. I've certainly never been put off buying a repaired piece as they can often be a bit cheaper - and you don't display the back side anyway!

Thank you Adrian, you got that right!! I do like the salty ones better, they have a story to tell. I just have to pace myself, so many awards, so little money lol.
