question about a Infanterie Sturmabzeichen

hello to all and first time posting here.

this is not my area of collecting and would like a little help from you guys.

went to a local antique store and found this Nazi combat infantry badge.

it was marked 45 dollars and end up 35 dollars OTD. i just took a gamble on it as i don't come across these every day.
so what do you guys think?
did i do OK?

is it real?
if you need better pictures i can take some better ones in the day light.

I believe this is a good wartime badge by Rudolf Souval. There are several collectors of these badges who visit the forum who will be able to confirm and perhaps offer more information.

i want to thank you for your guys input. what scared me was the R.S. did not look like any ones ive seen online.
ive never been to this website until yesterday and boy there is a lot of good info and knowledgeable people on this board.

Hello

As stated, yours is an original wartime Rudolf Souval example.
This one has the larger, thin RS maker mark.

These can also be found with the smaller RS maker mark with the same style sheet metal hinge and round catch plate.
Unfortunately, the catch on this one has been repaired at some point.

Here is one I have to compare.
