I agree with the others, the Souval is a good wartime ground dug example.
The remaining hardware; oblong catch plate and flat wire stock is correct for this example.

I'll deffinetly keep that last thread in mind when posting in the future. I have bunch of items being sent from my family in Chicago and before i post Anything I'll reread it a few times!
Anyway thanks for all the info, I've come across lots of reproduction and real items and both of these (Weight, strength of metal) feel 100% real...looks like the eagle has 3 holes in it ready for the brass pins to be placed? Cool mid production piece maybe the US got a little too close to the factory or something, or the Air Force got a lucky hit and they abandoned. The person who owned the medals before I had them for a Long time...he was a WW2 Vet and I believe his wife was from Europe. Thats all i know about back story.
Going to hold onto these excited for our display cases to come in!
Thanks Again...and am I right about the stamped eagle and the holes being for brass pins (hat eagle?)
