Re: 4 German Medals/pins: Eisernes Kreuz, Kriegsverdienstkreuz, NSDAP Dienstauszeichnung in Bronze, and hat pin.
I've read mixed reviews on cleaning vs. not cleaning these. What's done is done, so I guess it's too late now. I'm never going to sell it, so it's not the big of a deal to me; and I would rather it look good. Still, I hope I didn't lower the value too much by cleaning it.

Re: 4 German Medals/pins: Eisernes Kreuz, Kriegsverdienstkreuz, NSDAP Dienstauszeichnung in Bronze, and hat pin.
Your Iron Cross is a government issued award piece because it shows "800" silver. Private purchased pieces, being more expensive, frequently are marked "835" or "935". Previtera identified the KMST as "Kriegsministerium Standesamt" but i do not agree because it means "War ministry registry office". But here in Germany the registry office always was a civil office and no military office. And, my 2nd reason is, a registry office never would be a maker of any award.
