Hi
What are your opinions on this War Merit Cross 2nd Class?
And is that corrosion on the cross or just where the bronze finish has worn off?
Thanks
Cameron

It's a good one. I would say that "corrosion" makes it look pretty cool!
Its a really nice example

"In all my years as a soldier, I have never seen men fight so hard." - SS Obergruppenfuhrer Wilhelm Bittrich - Arnhem
It's a mixture of aging and patina. It's a nice cross.
Hi
Thanks! I think I will go for it!

That is a mint, unissued cross and most probably still retaining the original factory lacquer. There is no corrosion or patina, just the original finish.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Adrian is correct. It's a mint original KVKII with it's original toned finish intact.
In the 'old days' when medals were made of pure silver, people used to polish
them to make them shine - but these do not need any type of treatment
like that ! Just keep it dry and stored/displayed in a regulated
environment, and it will last for centuries.........

Steve.

Hi
Does anyone know the maker?
Thanks
Cameron
Unfortunately if it's unmarked then it's nearly impossible to tell.
