Hi Alex,
Carl Wild used two (possibly more?) stamps to mark their awards. Both types are acceptable, the plain stamp with the crossed '7' and also the incuse relief mark.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

Adrian, would be worth to compare with similar stamp. However I could not find something alike.

Alex

It is '107'. There is no doubt and it's easier to see '107' than anything else......

Now I see. Before I wrongly tried to recognize the stamp at bulged-in relief but not on protrusion.
Curiously, what is origin such wide ribbon? Obviously that it is not a standard complect of the award. Probably, such design had been mounted by special order including wide variant of the ribbon.
For instanse, this Hindenburg kreuz on wide ribbon.

Re: Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2 Klasse. Version of wearing.
The wide ribbons on the KVK or EKs for example is the same width as the ribbon for the Ritterkreuz and I would imagine that this is the ribbon used for these mounts.
I don't know about the Ehrenkreuz ribbon, possibly specially made?
Hopefully Andreas can shed some light on it as he collects these awards.

That's true, but how to explain Hindenburg Kreuz? Maybe Hindenburg Ritter? I suppose that it was possible at Austria to order appropriate design for any awards like now.
