Hi
Original?
What could be the manufacturer (which is not signed)?
Original yes but unless there is a makers mark on the ring it is nearly impossible to identify these crosses to a maker.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
packet says Souval.
Very nice Kriegsverdienstkreuz II Klasse mit Schwertern.
Unfortunately, if the KVKs II dont have maker marks on the rings, theres no way to tell what maker they are from...
But... "Your" KVKII has a particularity, the swastika too thick (gross) and the sword in the sheath, near the handle is also thicker (gross).
So you need to compare this peculiarity with other KVKII with PKZ98 on the ring from Rudolf Souval, if they match the set is from Souval.

I believe the thick swas is a Souval trait

So could be post war?
The fakes of KVK2 that I have seen in the net do not look like they were meant to fool anyone... the quality of then are very poor... But the post war Souval and fake Floch's are very good...
I've been searching in the net, and came to the following conclusion:
The Rudolf Souval, was available for sale as repros the KVK with and without swords. The rings were marked L/58 and the ribbons were original's. They weren't made of bronze, they had a bronze finish, and they werent bendable.
So, IMO not a Souval post war KVK2.
