    Hello all,

Here is a KVK 2 that is a bit different: the ring appears to be marked "83", and the medal itself is sort of thin in cross-section compared to my other examples. There looks to be to be some subtle twisting or bending going on all over with it, and it just appears to me to be be made of soft stuff.

(I'm not at liberty to start twisting it around. Yet.)

Any opinions as to it being a good purchase at a low price?

    Best regards,

    G. Kelly

These awards do vary in thickness from maker to maker or depending on the base material.

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I'm not sure why I thought the KVK II awards would be more uniform, but for some reason I did. In any event, this is the thinnest one I've encountered (so far).

Can it be bent under finger pressure?

Well, if I had broken it, I'd have bought it... but the sword blades are mighty thin (about 1.613mm thick at the center ribs) and will bend with the fingers, while the arms would probably take clamping in protected vise jaws and using a fairly good amount of pushing. Based on my days in metalworking, it is stouter than, for example, a fine pewter, and roughly equivalent to a silmilar sized piece of hobbyist's yellow brass.

It, is an original piece the thickness can indeed vary.
Depending on the maker and the material that has been used.

The swords will bend slightly easier than the arms but I have no problem with it being an original piece.

LOL! Yes, enough is enough as far as the bending goes.

Thank you all for the replies on this KVK.
