Hi, all. Does this appear to be a good/authentic piece or bad/fake?
Thanks,

This seems too black for a zinc version, but the photo may be dark, or it's my poor eyesight !
I'd pass, unless I could see it in hand. There are much better bronze finished pieces
to be found that would be a better buy.

Steve.
All these pieces, good and bad mixed together................ ! !
If you are planning to buy this stuff, my guess is it won't be very
cheap unless the seller doesn't know the value of the whole group.
There are some very good pieces you have shown and also
some that you have answers for that are bad too...........
Are you able to "cherry pick" through this lot, or is
everything for one lump-sum price ?
Regards,
Steve.
Thanks for the feedback Steve...much appreciated. Sorry to have lumped so many together. Yes, I think I got somewhat lucky and am able to cherry-pick from these many pieces I am being offered. As a young novice, however, I can't yet tell the good from the bad. Ade said I should post pictures of just a few pieces in a new thread each time to make it easier on those helping me out. I'm not sure which police badge you were referring to...I posted pics of one that is silver-looking and one that is more golden in two different threads.
Again, thanks alot and if you have time to look at the threads/posts (here and in medals/decorations and military insignia) I would value your opinion.
Best,
Adam
If you are going make a purchase of any of these - choose carefully Adam !
I had the oportunity in the past to buy a big boxload of TR stuff for
$100.00 (Canadian). A huge flag, 3 caps, several medals in boxes,
pins, cap badges................ I got lucky ! Everything was 100% original !
This was also back in 1980 !
Today there are more fakes out there than genuine pieces !
(I believe I referred to the small police pin with 1942 wreath on it.........
It should cost you about $15.00/$20.00-ish. The "silver" coloured helmet
shell I feel is not too bad at $60.00 US. You could repaint/restore it,
then possibly resell it for a bit more. Re-enactor types might be
interested, but a '62' is kind of small.)
Depends on how many of these things you truly want, need,
and can afford ! !
Regards,
Steve.
