Hi Chris and welcome to the forum.
I have to say I'm not keen on the cross from these images. It looks a poor representation of an original with unfamiliar hardware and strange trimming outlines. It looks moulded to my eye.
There are many examples of these awards out there so I would leave this one and pick up an unquestionable piece.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
