I have a Deschler & Sohn KVK without swords, the ring is stamped "1" but the envelope is stamped as "Deschler & Sohn Munchen 9".
Why is the ring marked "1" but the envelope marked "9"?

The mark '1' on the cross denotes the maker Deschler.
The '9' on the packet is probably part of the address it has nothing to do with a maker
