Try this "please can I ask anyone here that might be able to help me, is this an original medal and if so, who would the manufacturer be?" Just off the top of my head mate but you get the idea.

An original zinc piece but as mentioned, a bit rough with zinc pest. There are better examples out there. Do I see a makers mark on the pin?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
