Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings
Hi guys,
the Buntmetall, of which KVK2 corsses were made, is rather bronze as tombak (but 1. Klasse was produced of silvered tombac or zinc). Please notice, that the bronze crosses were not coated - and they keep natural color of metal.
A few weeks ago we had another thread about mint KVK2 sets by Deschler:
Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2.Klasse ohne Schwerter, Is it Fake?
regards
Tomasz
Thank you for the response Tom and for the info! That KVK also probably came from the hoard!!
