I should mention that really, awards are not an area of collecting that I get involved in. But I bought this recently as something to add to my small 'Eastern Front' collection. 263.Infanterie-Division were an element of Army Group Center during Barbarossa and the signature is that of Generalmajor Ernst Haeckel.

And it leads you to spend more money.....after reading through this section of the Forum, I'm now starting to look out for a medal and packet to complete the display.

Yep! You definitely need a medal and packet. Then you need the first classe award, cased and the Urkunde to accompany it, then the Kriegsverdienstmedaille and all the bits with that, then you'll need some examples from different makers, then some made from different materials, then court mounted, trifold and all the ribbon bars and medal bars and then the 1957 versions and then move on to the RKs...........

Nice Preliminary Award Doc--ive a couple as well. Also, don't pay more than about $45 US for one since they aint rare.

No, no, no.....the packet is marked 'Klein & Quenzer' so I now 'need' a medal which is stamped '65'......
