just curious as i have this piece in the collection since short
is this a souval made piece ? only marked 800

Souval's crosses are normally quite attractive pieces.
Are there indications that the swords have been sawn off?
In my humble opinion the 800 stamp was generally placed at the bottom of the ring unlike yours which will get worn away with time being placed at the top.
The 1939 date panel of yours certainly looks like the earlier '57 pattern date set up with the thinner font.
I don't like the big blob that has been left unfinished...Pictured below.
Also note the unfinished ribs of the suspension piece.
So all in all not a cross I would want
