Nice decoration and thank you for the precious information Mr. Garvy. Due to the fact that the serial numbers are relatively close my piece would have also been awarded in early 1945. I am not a specialist in Soviet awards and I wanted to ask you what does MZPP variant mean?
Thank you
Best regards
Sever

MZPP refers to Moskovskiy Zavod Platina Pribor, Mосковском Заводе Платиноприбор, where (Moscow) this variety of Red Star was manufactured. They were manufactured in relatively smaller numbers, and only two batches, the first from March to June, 1945, (from 1792164 to 1949660), and the other in September, 1945, (from 2050199 to 2290504). This variant is characterized by the smaller (8mm wide, 1.3mm height) mint mark and sloppy, some would call it clumsy, I call it unique, engraving of the serial numbers. Yours, 1869593, would fall into the range of the first batch.

I would certainly have it researched!

Very nice ORS. I would follow Ade's advice - have it researched and you might even get a photo of the "owner"

Thank you for the advice. I think I might do that in the near future as I am very curious to know to whom it belonged
Best regards
