Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

He is dedicated to the Party of Lenin and Stalin and the socialist motherland. He is politically developed, morally stable, and ideologically mature. He is disciplined and demanding of himself and his subordinates. He is decisive and bold in combat. He correctly directs his men to carry out the combat missions assigned to them.

During his time with the regiment, which extends from August 28, 1942 up to the present time, comrade Lieutenant Colonel Khudobin, in his capacity as chief of staff, organized the efficient and systematic duties of the regimental staff and the long-range artillery group in controlling artillery fire in combat.

He devotes exceptional, particular attention to the execution of the combat missions assigned to the battalions and to organizing the reconnaissance.

During the offensive and during the time the regiment occupied defensive positions between August 29, 1942 and March 1, 1943 near Kormanovo, Gusaki, Stary Podosinovets, Karasi, Lapotok, Sofyino, Sychevka, Arestovo, Bobrovka, Yarygino, Nikishkino, and Maloye Kropotovo, the regiment achieved the following under comrade Khudobin’s skillful and experienced leadership:

23 enemy artillery batteries were destroyed, 14 mortar batteries were suppressed, 47 artillery batteries were suppressed, 40 cargo trucks were destroyed, 22 trucks were put out of action, 27 railroad cars were destroyed on the Sychevka-Osuga railway, 18 railroad cars were damaged, 9 tanks were put out of action, 29 dugouts and bunkers were destroyed, 1 aircraft was shot down, 19 machine-gun positions were destroyed, 2 ammunition depots were burned down, and up to 2700 enemy troops were killed.

During the March offensive, between March 6 and March 29, 1943, the regiment provided artillery support for the attacking units of the 331st and 82nd Rifle Division. During the regiment’s march, comrade Khudobin managed to correctly organize the transport of the materiel and equipment over roads hardly passable for transport vehicles and tractors. He personally attended to the matter of the state of the materiel, equipment and the men during the march. He correctly and quickly decided to have the battalions open fire to support our attacking units.

On March 18, near Usadishche, the regiment repelled an enemy counterattack and suppressed 3 105-mm guns from an enemy artillery battery, which had been preventing the advance of our units.

For his selfless efforts, for carrying out the assigned combat missions in a timely manner, and for the excellent and systematic duties of the regimental staff in controlling artillery fire in combat, comrade Khudobin deserves the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.
