Order of the Red Star # 2.533.766

Hello gentlemen,

What is your opinion on this Red Star? My own opinion is that it is an original mid '45 awarded star with quite some loss of enamel (which doesn't bother me). I noticed that the details on the figure are very faint and my guess is that it is worn off instead of being a badly made fake which lacks details. Though fakers do get better and better so I am better safe than sorry.

I concur, an authentic Order of the Red Star, Moscow Mint, 1945 awarding, possible field worn damage and worthy of further research.

Yes, that's a reasonable assumption.

This batch of Red Stars was issued by Moscow mint in December 1945. The actual hand out happened likely in 1946.
So it could also be for the Far East campaign.
