Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
In offensive fighting 7th-8th August, 1943 near the village of Petrikino, Comrade Khanov accompanied tanks and made passaged under heavy enemy fire. When clearing lanes Khanov was fired upon by a German sniper. Discovering the sniper, Khanov killed him but was simultaneously wounded. After wounded he continued his work and disarmed two tension booby-traps. In all, 105 mines were removed by him.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
On the night of 3.09.1943 while restoring a crossing near the village of Vasyuki on the river Ustrom, Comrade Khanov displayed bravery and valor. Under heavy enemy fire from the opposite river shoreline Comrade Khanov stood in the water without quitting his work until the bridge was restored.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
From 13.1.45 to 14.1.45 while under heavy enemy fire during the penetration of the enemy defense near Pilkallen, Comrade Khanov and his squad cleared passages in enemy minefields. Comrade Khanov’s direct participation and initiative enabled the rapid and successful mission accomplishment in passing tanks and equipment. In the night of 24.1.45 without rest he worked in restoring a bring across the Daite river. Enemy fire did not stop him. The bridge was restored on time and equipment was advanced.

Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
On 6th April, 1945 near Lazerkaim Squad Leader Sergeant Khanov and his squad were accompanying self-propelled guns. After an artillery preparation, he advanced forward of the infantry, crawling to the lead enemy trench and began tossing grenades at the Germans and firing on the move from his sub-machine gun. He was wounded twice during this engagement, not leaving after his first, but only after his second wounding did he leave the battlefield. He was removed from the battlefield by medic-instructor Tikhonov only after sufficient blood loss. In his sector, all the self-propelled guns passed unharmed.
He is deserving of the Order of the Patriotic War I Class.
