Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
Major Privalov has worked as an airfield supply battalion commander since the beginning of the Patriotic War. Supporting the aviation’s combat actions while in the 18th Air Base Region, Comrade Privalov capably set the unit’s work, which resulted in not a single accident or delay of combat sorties as the battalion’s fault.
Official notices from flight units, especially the commander of the 233rd Ground Attack Aviation Division General-Major of Aviation Trifonov, the commander of the 188th Fighter Aviation Regiment Lieutenant Colonel Cherepanov, and a series of other flight units deserve attention and speak about the major, intensive work contributed by the battalion throughout the Patriotic War.
The 258th ASB has been in the 15th Air Base Region since November, 1942. During the last winter and spring the battalion has done exclusive work in training and servicing the aviation regiments’ combat actions in winter conditions and especially during the spring thaw. Comrade Privalov has contributed much work to the construction of the Emelyanovka airfield and its airfield support buildings.
In the last year’s work alone the 25th8 ASB serviced more than 250 aircraft of various types and prepared for use 630 tons of ammunition, 220 tons of varied fuels, more than 400 tons of lubricants, and a large quantity of aviation technical equipment, armaments, supplies, etc.
In the same time period the battalion’s aviation repair workshop repaired 241 vehicles, 241 vehicles, 81 of which were significant jobs and 14 major overhauls. Thirty command bunkers were built and nine command points.
During our forces’ offensive operations on the Western Front, the battalion’s troops demined five airfields and rendered 276 enemy mines and 80 aviation bombs harmless. A whole series of the battalion’s best personnel were awarded State awards.
Comrade Privalov is a hard-working and demanding commander. He wields great authority among the battalion’s personnel.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.
Signed Chief, 15th Air Base Region, Colonel Kuznetsov on 6th June, 1943
Endorsed 1st Air Army Deputy Commander of Rear Area Operations General-Major of Aviation Uspenskii on 5.9.1943
