Following his mobilization in June 1941 comrade N.I. Samilov served as regimental propaganda instructor, from July 1942 he served with the Operational Army on the Kalinin Front as a propaganda instructor, he later was an agitator in the 1098th Cannon Artillery Regiment of the High Command Reserve, and since August 1943 he has been an agitator with the Political Department of the 43rd Army.
During his service in the artillery regiment he was one of the best agitators, maintaining the closest possible connection with the Red Army masses and selflessly building the morale of the men. He devotes himself to his assignments with great passion. A highly disciplined officer, comrade Samilov put a great deal of effort into improving his own knowledge, passing this knowledge on to the enlisted men, non-commissioned officers, and officers and striving for discipline and high fighting ability within his regiment. In August 1943 he was promoted to agitator with the Army’s Political Department and he has been carrying out all of his tasks in a conscientious manner. He took part in preparing the 179th Rifle Division’s September offensive and was involved in the offensive itself.
Upon instruction from the Army’s Political Department he was very active in the Draft Commission and at the agitation post in the city of Demidov.
The headquarters of 1098th Cannon Artillery Regiment nominated him for a decoration. The outcome is unknown.
