Short, concrete description of his combat feat or merits:

Comrade Ilyin has been serving as assistant battalion commander for technical affairs since the day the battalion was formed. In his duties leading the repair and recovery of vehicles he displayed thorough knowledge of his profession. He loves his military specialty. He is bold and resourceful and possesses great knowledge of his profession. In combat conditions comrade Ilyin repeatedly evacuated vehicles from difficult and precarious situations. In his everyday duties comrade Ilyin displays exceptional concern and diligence to make sure the tasks assigned by the command are carried out. Thanks to his skilful leadership the battalion quickly mastered the ability to conduct repairs in the field. Between July 1st and November 5th of this year the battalion refitted 664 vehicles of different types.
