Hi there,
some of you my know me from other forum, so i thought, i say hi by posting one of my Red Stars here.
Its a Duplicate with stamped s/n and a cyrillic "D".
I don´t have a full translation for the research i have, but our dearly missed friend Rick L. was so kind to give an overview.
It belonged to Guards Junior Sergeant of the Reserves Ivan Semjenovic Yefimov and he was decorated with this order as a sapper squad commander in the 16th Independent Guards Engineer-Sappers Battalion of the 24th Engineer-Sapper Brigade.
He was also awarded a Bravery Medal (s/n 1.238.156, just in case) and both Medals for Victory over Japan and Germany.
Excerps of his citation:
"Brave resourceful leader full of initiative, devoted and so on... From March 1944 to May 1945 under heavy combat conditions removed 1.235 enemy anti-tank and anti-personal mines, exceeded norms without losses, ..."
I´ll get it translated from Auke, as soon as i can.
