    Hi,

My father gave me this beauty a while ago. Said my granpa brought it home from the WW2. Either he got it from Winter War 1939-40 or the Continuation War 1941-44 (while occupying Soviet-Karelia) between Finland and USSR. Any comments about it's origins? I believe it is quite rare and valuable?

    Thank you in advance,

    Mikko

Thank you for your comments. I believe pre-1941 stars are hard to research due to lack of documenting. Any suggestions where to contact for help? I read Auke's pages and learned that the Russians don't have a lot of information before the June of 1941.

Very beautiful and quite rare star!! And yes, this type with low number is quite valuable indeed. I would contact Auke to see if research is possible on this one. Such a beauty deserves more research

Is the Red Star with the lowest number I've ever seen.

It looks very conserved and the enamel is perfect.
Congratulations. The great experts of the subject will surely help you with its story.

    Very nice star

I'm not 100% sure but I think it's a duplicate award, please look at the letters above the mondvor marking. It looks like a "Ду"..
