Ok Bill... here's a brief outline on each of them:
804,390: Guards Major Viktor Ivanovich - 129th Rifle Corps - Deputy Chief of Corps Area. For food supplies to troops
1,026,349: Gunner Vasilii Ignatevich Ivanov - Mortar Company - 18th Guards Rifle Div, 11th Guards Army. Combat actions at Melkamen, East Prussia
1,752,810: Master Sgt - Natalia Ivanovna Skylar - 150th Detached Medical Battalion, 76th Rifle Div, 47th Army. Dressing wounded during battles of Warsaw & Deutch-Crone(Walcz)
3,280,341: Lt-Col Ivan Ivanovich Romanchenko - Chief Of Staff - 8th Fortified Region. Red Army since September 1938
That's not really accurate. On my website I have long service award serial numbers ranges for among others the Red Star, and one is usually "safe" under the 848,000 and between the 1,000,000 and 2,700,000: Soviet long service awards (1944–1957)
I should add, though, that there are large "grey areas" between the serial number ranges, but a RS in the early 2 mil range is most likely a real combat award.
Thanks for the info Auke, some interesting reading. So it maybe a possibility that this star was for more than just long service , which is good to know.
