Thanks, Mo! It was the first one that popped up on ebay... it was a "buy me now" at a GREAT price, and must have been listed super recently, so I jumped at it!

I'm just hoping the person who my new Order of the Red Star belonged to did something cool... I'd be a little let down if it ended up being something like: "Maker of the best borscht in all of Soviet Red Army"

From what I can see, your man was awarded a Red Banner (156116) on November 2nd, 1944, a Lenin (31924), I think, on April 30th 1945, and this Red Star on September 2nd, 1945. On the Award List he is second from the bottom on the first page.
