    Hello all,

The same seller who sold the AS marked R.S. discussed earlier is selling a Nahkampfspange in silber as well. What are your thoughts on the authenticity?

He is also asking for a fair price and I'm trying to figure out that too.

Thanks a lot in advance for your comments.

The clasp is original, but i'm wondering if it's a bronze award that's been refinished. Take a look at the two examples below of the reverse of both a silver and bronze clasp of the same type (1.8.1) and maker and see what you think? I can't be sure, but would expect to see some traces of silver left somewhere, like on the hardware for instance.

    Regards, Ned.

    Ned,

Wow you are right, I never noticed the difference. I don't see any left over silver though.

How much do you think this is worth?

    Thanks.

Textbook F&BL clasp in bronce. IMO is the obverse only a bit cleaned/polished....i think there are rests of the bronce finish (obverse side) to see. Bronce finish on the reverse side is still complete intact.

Whoever applied the silver did a marvelously good job of it-almost professional in appearance, but, it is, at the end of the day, still just a messed with bronze.

It's difficult to believe that the silver appearance is really that of a Bronze?? If it is, I have never seen such an appearance of bronze finish looking silver before.
